Jane Nield

Safeguarding Lead (2023-2024), and Trustee of TMT (2023-2025)

Jane graduated from Kingston University in History and political philosophy and has spent most of her working life teaching. She started in primary education where she wrote, directed and produced school plays and then went on to Tiffin Boy's School as Head of Religious Education, as well as teaching history.

She helped in various productions at the school, became a qualified chaperone, and worked for the National Youth Music Theatre and the Rose theatre in Kingston. Jane's interest in musical theatre was intensified through her marriage to David, who was a composer and musical director for the NYMT.

After retirement, Jane spent a formative year back-packing around the world with David, visiting twenty-five countries and experiencing wonderful differences of various cultures. On return she taught English and the 11 plus for Test Teach Tuition, as well as private tuition at home. Her life is kept busy by being a mother, grandmother and step great-grandmother to a large extended family and continuing her interests in art, gardening, entertaining and travelling.
